Writing on the walls was out of the question.
I have a delightfully melancholy husband who would draw the line. . .so, in desperation of wanting to remember scripture and quotes, I scribbled all over the bookcase on my desk. One of my favorite quotes spoken by my three year old son in the country one spring is the phrase, “a parade of grasshoppers”. It made me giggle then and makes me smile in remembrance. My dearest scribble on the bookcase is a verse that sustains me daily, originally found in Psalm 46, and now scratched deeply with a black sharpie reads “God is our refuge and strength. A very present help in times of trouble.” - I can attest, that verse is written with fortitude and pleading. No doubt you understand the feeling.
Black sharpie wouldn’t cut it for the whole house (and remember said husband, Mr. Wonderful). . .I had to do something that didn’t look like we had let said three year old loose. . .Hallelujah! A new idea sprang forth - my beloved scriptures on the wall, resembling hand painted calligraphy with no paint mess, no alignment frustrations, no procrastination!
My hope is you will be intentional in your walk with the Lord. Desire to surround your home with scripture in order that you too, will absorb The Word every single day. It’s so amazing - God breathed and this amazing life book (The Bible) came to be for each of us - to review and work from in order to fill our lives abundantly with His goodness and mercy. When God’s Promises reside on your walls it is hard not to be reminded of how much the Lord loves you!
We are honored to be Stuck On The Word and look forward to you joining us. . .
